Over the 90-day window ending May 20, 2026, Venezuela registered 63 censorship incidents — more than any other country in our index. The bulk are connectivity disruptions flagged by IODA's ASN-level outage detector, with corroborating OONI measurements on a recurring set of news and circumvention domains.
The Voidly forecast model places Venezuela at ~33% next-7-day shutdown risk, the highest globally. The pattern is consistent with reporting from Access Now and IFEX about political pressure on internet access during the 2026 election cycle.
This finding is editorial. The underlying incidents are independently citable — each has a permanent ID linking back to raw OONI, IODA, and CensoredPlanet measurements.
